The Tug Oceana was built by Gourlay Brothers & Co. Ltd., Dundee in 1889. on the 18th October 1918 The tug Oceana was involved in a collision with the HM Tug Stobo Castle and sank in Mill Bay. No crew were lost.
The Wreck Today.
For many years and in some dive books and guides this wreck was listed as the tug Char. Research carried out in 2003 established the identity as HM Tug Oceana. The wreck in an interesting shallow dive in 14m of water in position 59°12,43'N 02°44,68'W.
