The steel trawler Crathie built in 1916 by Duthie J. - John Duthie, Sons & Co. - Torry Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Aberdeen and registered A713.
CRATHIE, hired trawler, 16 December 1916, off NW Scotland built 1916, Aberdeen-registered A713. Owned by the Caledonian Steam Trawling Co. hired 1916 as a minesweeper based at Larne. Sweeping off southern islands of Outer Hebrides. Went ashore, holed in port side, and lost on Nizam Point, Barra Head, Outer Hebrides - in approximate position 57.03N, 07.27.30W. Ship sank before she could be salvaged, divers recovered gun and some stores; no lives lost ADM.137/570.(Auxilliary Patrol. Weekly Reports, Area 1, Stornoway, 1916.)
