The Steam Trawler Glesina was built by Cook, Welton & Gemmell Ltd, Hull in 1915 for Walter Olney of Grimsby as GY 869 bit was taken over by the Admiralty in 1916 for use as a minesweeper.
The Loss
On the 25th June 1917 HMT Gelsina struck a mine that had been laid by UC-40. Five crew were lost.
