The crew of the 'U 12.'
At the award ceremony on December 12, 1914, in Pola after the torpedoing of the French battleship Jean Bart. On August 21, 1914, the flagship of the French battle fleet, 'Jean Bart,' was severely damaged off the Albanian coast by a torpedo strike from SM U 12, prompting the French fleet to withdraw from the Adriatic. This was of great significance for the operations of the Austro-Hungarian Navy and for coastal traffic.
The crew included: Commander Lieutenant of the Line Egon Lerch, First Officer Frigate Lieutenant Ernst Zaccaria, Mano Budisavljevic, Ladislaus Deak, Rudolf Droczinger, Stanislaus Dvoracek, Anton Fidra, Johann Kotzmann, Stefan Kroczek, Franz Lang, Friedrich Neeser, Max Pustaurh, Josef Reizinger, Robert Schramayr, Zoltan Strausz, Karl Weidisch, and Josef Ziegler.
