The steel steamship SS Dana was built in 1903 by the Danish company Helsingørs Jernskibs og Maskinbyggeri A/S.. At lime of loss the vessel was operated by A/S D/S Dana (Wm. Hansen), Bergen.

DANA (s).—Helsingborg. Nov. 30.—The deck load landed here in August last from the steamer Dana from Kemi, has been reshipped by the same vessel, which proceeded for West Hartlepool to-day.

SS Dana has the UKHO Wreck Card 542 in position 594900N, 011700W (see chart) The wreck has not been identified and is considered to vague to chart.

UKHO Wreck Card 554 is an unknown wreck 5 miles south of Sumburgh Head in position 5946.227N, 0111.790W. (see chart) This wreck was located in 1994 and recorded as 50m long and orientated 110/290.
A further survey in 2012, by Chevron Upstream Europe gave further details. The wreck was given a length of 55m (SS Dana was 59m long). and orientated 010/190 with bows south and sitting intact and upright.
It is possible this wreck is SS Dana. The wreck sits in 110m of water.
